Role OverviewThe Lifeguard Team's overall responsibility is the safety and operation of rides and attractions. All lifeguard applicants will have to complete the Ellis & Associates lifeguard training course prior to employment.
What You Will Do
Prevent aquatic emergencies, respond to incidents, and provide guest service. Follow training skills, ride dispatch, and enforce rules for guest safety.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must be able to swim 50 meters without stopping, have a clean uniform, and look professional. Must be courteous and work together with fellow team members.
Requirements
- 16 years old by the first day of work
- Must be able to swim 50 meters without stopping
- Must be able to swim 200 meters without stopping within a 5-minute time period (for Deep Guards)
- Must be able to retrieve a 10-pound brick from the deepest part of the pool and tread with it for 1 minute
- Must be able to pay close attention to detail
- Must be adaptable and able to work independently for short periods of time
- Must be dependable and punctual with transportation to and from work
- Must be prepared with the items needed to do the job
- Must be safety aware and take proactive measures to maintain safety
- Must be vigilant and avoid distractions
- Must meet specific physical requirements to complete the lifeguard license and remain in good physical and mental condition
Benefits
- Base pay: $17.10-$19.60 per hour
- End of Season Bonus Program: earn up to an additional $1/hour
