Role OverviewThe Lifeguard position creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting and maintaining a safe swimming environment in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
What You Will Do
Ensure safety of all participants in the aquatics area at all times of operation, test and document water quality, and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must be at least 16 years of age, hold current CPR, First Aid, and YMCA certifications, and demonstrate commitment to the mission, cause of the YMCA, and uphold its values and ethics.
Requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification
- YMCA Lifeguard certification
- Ability to read, write, and understand written directions
- Ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions
