Requirements

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed
• Observe residents before, during, and after medication administration
• Maintain accurate and current medication administration records (MAR)
• Demonstrate knowledge of commonly used medical terminology, abbreviations, and symbols related to medication administration
• Assist licensed nursing staff with resident assessments and contribute to care planning
• Provide residents with support for light housekeeping tasks and assist in escorting residents to and from activities
• Identify, report, and support the prevention of medication errors
• Maintain professional and cooperative working relationships with nursing staff, physicians, pharmacists, and other interdisciplinary team members
