Job Description
We are looking for a production operator to join our manufacturing team in Carlisle, PA. The Mixer 3 Helper position makes and properly packages a variety of roofing adhesives into a range of packages. The M3 Helper will also be required to learn and fill in for the job duties of the M3 Operator to perform as needed.
Compensation:
$27.21 to start, $31.36 after 6 months
$1.50 shift differential per hour while working 2nd shift
Schedule:
2nd shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm, Monday - Friday
Overtime may be required
Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate can filling equipment to fill 1, 2.5, and 5-gallon cans
Assisting in making boxes to package 1-gallon cans
Manually date code 2.5 and 5-gallon cans using labeling gun
Filling and labeling pint size sample cans for Quality Assurance
Band skids of finished materials
Setting up 1-gallon and date coder
Cleaning canning line conveyor rollers daily
Connecting to proper surge tank
Counterweight scale operation
Cleaning lines between product changes
Maintaining proper housekeeping in work area
Filling out necessary production paperwork, Quality Assurance paperwork, and labor tickets
Changing strainer baskets
Fill in for Mixer 3 Operator during scheduled vacation periods and unscheduled call-offs
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Canning line operation along with its component pieces
Fork truck operation
Processing specifications
Minor maintenance of the canning line
Lockout/Tagout procedures
Inventory recording and maintenance

Truck unloading/loading process

Housekeeping and job breakdown procedures
Skills:
Basic mathematical calculations
Reading and comprehension of bills of lading, orders, SDS’s (Safety Data Sheets), purchasing specifications, and scales
Driving a fork truck
Hand eye coordination for high skid storage
Filling out required paperwork
Qualitative testing of incoming materials

Education & Experience:
Experience: Manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred
Equipment & Data Used:
Equipment run on the job: fork truck, scales, pallet jack, and calculator
Tools required on the job: tape measure, Stickney gauge, scissors, safety knife, screwdriver, scraper, wrenches, and tin snips
Data used on the job: Purchasing specifications, material receiving and inventory, inspection, traceability, product code lists, product equivalency lists, hold and disposition tags

Plant is heated in the winter
Exposure to diesel fumes and some solvents when cleaning (PPE Provided)

Uniforms are issued and laundered by company
Time Worked
Monday – Friday with Saturday/Sunday Overtime as business requires
Physical Requirements:
Climbing – must climb into and out of a fork truck
Reaching – reaching to pick up pails off skids
Standing – standing while filling 5-gallon cans, date coding cans, and making boxes
Walking – walking to and from while making boxes and date coding cans
Pushing – gently pushing filled cans onto powered conveyor and pushing button to start filling process for each can
Pulling – pulling empty cans towards you before filling
Lifting – lifting of raw materials and boxes of lids weighing 50lbs (occasionally up to 62 lbs)
Grasping – grasping empty cans before pulling them towards you before filling and grasping lids to place on filled cans.
Talking & Hearing – must communicate with other members of plant, team, and supervisors
Sitting – operator sits to fill 1-gallon cans
Sight – seeing hazards, warnings, and reading SDS’s (Safety Data Sheets)
Repetitive motions include – Reaching beside for empty can, grasping the can, and pulling the can towards the operator, picking up cans and placing them under fill device, pressing the fill button, placing the lid on a filled can and gently pushing the can onto the conveyor
