Role OverviewThe Search team builds systems to help users find relevant content across TikTok. The team works on machine learning, data-driven product development, and distributed systems to improve search quality. Interns will gain hands-on experience and explore potential career paths.
What You Will Do
Support the design and implementation of Search features, work with large-scale data, collaborate with engineering and data science partners, write clear code and documentation, and communicate progress with mentors and stakeholders.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Candidates should have experience with programming languages, data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals. Familiarity with search, machine learning, and data mining projects is a plus. Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and collaborate with cross-functional partners is required.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C++, Go, or JavaScript through coursework, projects, internships, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, software engineering fundamentals, and basic system design concepts.
