Role OverviewOperates specialized machines to perform various operations on lumber or wood stock, such as routing, boring, and cutting. Works in a millwork environment with a focus on quality, quantity, and safety.
What You Will Do
Selects and sets machine control settings, selects material, starts machines, measures cut stock, and removes cut stock from machines. Maintains production count, prepares cut inventory, and cleans equipment and work areas.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Requires attention to quality, quantity, and safety, as well as mechanical aptitude and understanding of products and components used in mill production. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and work in a very loud environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1-year prior experience and/or training in related millwork, construction, or lumber industries
- 6 months prior experience working on machines and good mechanical aptitude
- CDL A or B may be required
- Forklift Certification may be required
