Role OverviewThe Skilled Machinist is responsible for manufacturing, repairing, and modifying precision components used in aerospace applications. This position requires advanced knowledge of machining processes, materials, and aerospace quality standards to ensure all parts meet engineering specifications, FAA, and AS9100 requirements.
What You Will Do
Set up and operate CNC and manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and other precision machining equipment. Interpret complex aerospace blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications including GD&T. Machine tight-tolerance parts using aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and nickel alloys.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of precision machining experience in aerospace or a similar regulated industry, with hands-on experience with CNC machining centers (HAAS, Mazak, Okuma, or similar). Familiarity with AS9100 and FAA Part 145 repair station quality standards is a plus.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited machinist or aerospace manufacturing technical program preferred
- 3–5 years of precision machining experience in aerospace or a similar regulated industry
