Machinist

Requirements

• Manufacture, repair, and rebuild mechanical components to precise specifications.
• Set up and operate conventional machine tools including lathes, boring mills, milling machines, grinders, shapers, planers, thread cutters, and radial drills.
• Program, set up, and operate CNC machinery; proof initial parts; edit programs for optimization and efficiency.
• Interpret blueprints, program readouts, technical directives, and work orders.
• Maintain required dimensional tolerances through precise alignment, setup, and machining practices.
• Apply advanced shop mathematics, including geometry and trigonometry, to calculate dimensions, angles, and machining parameters.
