Role OverviewThe Maintenance Mechanic operates from established and well-known procedures, under minimum supervision, performing duties independently with only general direction given. Decisions are made within prescribed operating and casualty procedures and guidelines. The Maintenance Mechanic encounters recurring work situations of high complexity, with occasional variations from the norm.
What You Will Do
Perform routine maintenance duties, including the collection of trending information for the Maintenance Manager. Keep track of spare parts and complete a usage report. Participate in the administrative maintenance of Plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams, and preventive/predictive maintenance records.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must have strong troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently in time-sensitive or high-pressure situations. Must have excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing. Must successfully complete a Maintenance Mechanics test.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED and 2 years' related power plant experience
- OR Associate's degree in Instrumentation or related degree and 0 years' related power plant experience
- Valid State Driver's License
- Successful candidates must receive a rating of Recommended on the NRG pre-employment assessment test
