Role OverviewThe City of O'Fallon is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to support operations within our Water and Sewer Department. This essential role performs advanced technical work to maintain, repair, and overhaul hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and SCADA systems across the City's Water Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Water Wells, and Sewer Pump Stations.
What You Will Do
Maintain, repair, overhaul, install, and inspect hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and SCADA systems. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on water and sewer facilities. Diagnose equipment deficiencies and perform advanced electrical/electromechanical troubleshooting.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of mechanical equipment maintenance and pumping systems, experience with pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic control systems, and familiarity with SCADA repair and interpretation of wiring diagrams/blueprints.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work on-call evenings/weekends and in all weather conditions
- One to two years of relevant experience or equivalent apprenticeship/internship
- Ability to obtain a Missouri Class A CDL with tanker endorsement
- Ability to obtain required Missouri DNR certifications in Drinking Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Treatment, and MWEA Collection Systems
