Job Description
Maintenance Repair Worker 3 at Allen Correctional Institution. Performs semi-skilled and skilled maintenance repair work, including electrical, carpentry, and plumbing. Inspects buildings and equipment for needed repairs or replacements. Ensures secure maintenance of tools and completes tool counts and inventories. Assists in related job crafts as required. Controls/restricts inmate movement to assigned areas. Conducts searches of inmates when a breach of security is suspected. Responds to emergencies. Attends meetings and trainings. Participates on institution committees.

Requirements

  • Formal education in arithmetic, including addition and subtraction, and in reading, writing, and speaking common English vocabulary
  • 12 months training or 12 months experience in maintenance repair, including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and use of associated hand and power tools and equipment
  • Valid commercial driver's license if motor equipment is of type and size regulated by Sections 4506.01 and 4506.12 of Ohio Revised Code
