Role Overview

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Maintenance Repair Worker 3 to perform semi-skilled and skilled maintenance repair work, including electrical, carpentry, and plumbing tasks. The successful candidate will work in a correctional environment and be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the facility.

What You Will Do

The Maintenance Repair Worker 3 will perform a variety of tasks, including inspecting buildings and equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and operating machine tools and welding equipment. They will also be responsible for controlling inmate movement, conducting searches, and responding to emergencies.

Requirements

  • Valid commercial driver's license
  • 12 months of training or experience in maintenance repair (e.g., basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry & use of associated hand & power tools & equipment)
  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary
