Role OverviewPerform a variety of repairs and installations to school facilities, including carpentry, flooring, wall, ceiling, and painting. Identify and resolve maintenance repair problems related to multi-skills craft. Measure, cut, and shape various materials to fit repairing numerous multi skill maintenance issues.
What You Will Do
Perform repairs and installations, maintain inventory of tools and equipment, follow safety guidelines, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with staff and auxiliary services personnel.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have general knowledge of various types of paints, solvents, and coatings, and the ability to use paint spray equipment and power equipment. They will also have organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision.
Requirements
- Accredited High School Diploma or USA equivalency
- Three (3) years of work experience in four different crafts; One (1) year of experience in carpentry, flooring, ceiling repair, and painting
- Demonstrated general knowledge of various types of interior and exterior paints, solvents, primers, stains, acrylics, lacquers, epoxies, and other industry coatings
- Must pass physical in order to wear half face negative pressure respirator
- Must be clean-shaven at all times - Only if certified to wear respirator
- Maintain a valid Texas Driver's License and driving record that meets District standards
- Must pass a Dallas ISD random drug test
