Role Overview

The Maintenance Technician 2 provides maintenance and repair services for Metro Health facilities under the direction and supervision of the Supervisor – Maintenance. The role involves ensuring comfortable, efficient, continuous, and compliant facility operation.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities include utilizing the department Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), performing basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work, inspecting grounds, buildings, and equipment, and completing preventative maintenance and corrective work orders.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a valid Michigan driver’s license, a minimum of two years of demonstrated ability in healthcare engineering and maintenance, and valid EPA Section 608 Type I, Type II, Type III, or Universal Technician Certification. The candidate should also be able to read and understand construction drawings and specifications, and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.

Requirements

  • High school or vocational school diploma or GED
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license without restriction affecting performance of job responsibilities
  • Minimum of two years of demonstrated ability in healthcare engineering and maintenance or five years of demonstrated ability in commercial building maintenance or construction
  • Valid EPA Section 608 Type I, Type II, Type III, or Universal Technician Certification
  • Valid Boiler Operator’s License through a recognized independent licensing entity, municipality, state or federal agency
  • MECH Health Care Mechanic Certification
