Role Overview

Employee works for the Shop Manager, performing maintenance, inspection, and repair of nursery, farm equipment, and farming irrigation systems. Capable of completing assigned tasks independently as well as with other mechanics. Fully supports equipment and repairs during season.

What You Will Do

Troubleshoot, repair, and install mechanical equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and maintain a clean and safe work area. Perform live/dead test on electrical circuits, inventory management, and other tasks assigned by management.

Ability to work alone without close supervision, lift 50 lbs on a continuous basis, and possess a valid California driver's license. Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and ability to reason and communicate with management to understand priorities and balance workload and jobs assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in a maintenance related field
  • Valid California driver's license
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs on a continuous basis and 100 lbs on occasion
  • Ability to do continuous bending, stooping, and walking on a daily basis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English
  • Bilingual desired
  • Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Ability to reason and communicate with management to understand priorities and balance workload and jobs assigned
  • Experience with maintenance management software, various irrigation/fertigation systems, and Argus is preferred
  • Advanced welding, cutting, grinding, arc gouging and plasma cutting skills
  • Advanced Hydraulic system maintenance and repair
  • Advanced 12-24v electrical system knowledge
  • Advanced AC/DC electrical diagnostic skills required
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC maintenance and repair
  • CMRP – Certified Maintenance Professional
  • CMT – Certified maintenance Technician
  • Preferred other certificates: Opacity, Welding, Electrician, Manufacture Sponsored Repair/Maintenance training, etc
