Role Overview

The Maintenance Technician Level I is responsible for performing building rounds, completing work orders, and maintaining doors and hardware. The role requires a nonjudgmental approach and cultural competency to work with diverse programs and populations. The Maintenance Technician will work independently and with others to maintain a safe and healthy environment.

What You Will Do

The Maintenance Technician Level I will perform tasks such as building rounds, completing work orders, assembling furniture, and performing preventive maintenance tasks. The role requires effective communication with vendors and contractors. The Maintenance Technician will also fulfill programs support initiatives for partner agencies, tenants, and agency staff.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds
  • Minimum of a year of experience in a maintenance or custodial-oriented position
  • Experience in minor building repairs, including prepping and painting walls, floor care, and installing ceiling tiles
  • Commercial experience in working with plumbing, electrical, and trouble-shooting electronic climate control and lighting systems
  • Current driver's license with a good driving record and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work with others, including staff, clients, and community
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently and with others
  • Nonjudgmental approach and cultural competency to work with diverse programs and populations
