Role Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, cleanliness, and overall operational readiness of school buildings, grounds, and equipment. This position helps ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, parishioners, and visitors while supporting the mission and values of Ste. Genevieve Du Bois Catholic School.

What You Will Do

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on school facilities, equipment, and grounds. Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently and safely. Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and functionality of classrooms, offices, common areas, restrooms, and outdoor spaces.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities management, custodial services, or a related field preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repair practices
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment, tools, and machinery
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching
