Role Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing printing and converting equipment as well as supporting facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. This role is critical to minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting production throughput across all converting and printing assets.

What You Will Do

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on printing and converting machinery. Support equipment such as flexographic presses, offset presses, rewinders, slitters, die cutters, folder-gluers, embossers, and packaging lines.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment, preferably within paper converting, packaging, tissue, or printing environments
  • Understanding of mechanical drives, gearboxes, bearings, rollers, and web handling systems
  • Knowledge of electrical systems including motors, VFDs, sensors, and basic PLC troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics, and compressed air systems
  • General facility maintenance knowledge; certifications in electrical, HVAC, or plumbing preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Continuous Improvement principles
  • Experience with Preventive and Predictive Maintenance methodologies
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems for work order tracking and documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Critical thinking and sound decision-making ability under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
