Role OverviewCamden is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its Charlotte, NC communities (Camden Southline/Gallery/South End). This full-time role is responsible for maintenance service requests and is focused on customer service and teamwork.
What You Will Do
Respond to and complete service requests, coordinate with the maintenance supervisor and team, provide excellent customer service, perform preventative maintenance, prepare vacant apartments for move-in, and assist with groundskeeping, pool maintenance, and housekeeping.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Candidates with six months of maintenance experience, preferably in the apartment industry, and a High School Diploma or trade school certification are preferred. EPA certification (Type I, II, or Universal) is strongly preferred. The role requires a valid driver's license, dependable transportation, and a varied schedule including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Six months of maintenance experience, preferably in the apartment industry
- High School Diploma preferred; certification from an accredited trade school highly desired
- EPA Type I, Type II or Universal certification strongly preferred
- Demonstrate knowledge of technical skills as it relates to apartment maintenance
- Handle tile work, carpentry repairs and all facets of the make ready process
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical and all other systems at the community
- Must have dependable transportation to/from work and be able to accommodate a rotating on-call schedule
- A valid driver’s license is required for employees who work at communities utilizing Low Speed Vehicles
- Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays as required
- Must be able to read and write in English at intermediate level
- Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and plans
- Requires public contact and excellent interpersonal skills
