The Automotive department in Forest Lawn, Glendale is in search of a skillful Maintenance Worker who will help upkeep company vehicles. The Maintenance Worker in the Automotive department will use car wash equipment to vacuum interiors, scrub and wash exteriors, and/or to steam clean engines, mechanical components, radiators, tanks, or other parts as required. They will also assist with other functions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing vehicles for interior and exterior car wash procedures.
- Perform vehicle safety checks to ensure there is no exterior or interior damage and that there are no warning lights activated.
- Check all fluid levels (gasoline, brake fluid, wiper fluid, motor oil, etc.) and top off as needed.
- Vacuum all interior carpeting for the front and rear seats and the cargo space.
- Wipe all vinyl and leather materials with an appropriate cleaner/protectant.
- Clean all interior chrome, mirrors, and glass with an appropriate cleaner, and/or protectant.
- Use a scrub brush with an appropriate wash-and-wax cleaner and wash all exterior surfaces.
- Clean all exterior chrome, mirrors, and glass with an appropriate cleaner, and/or protectant.
- Use steam cleaning and high-pressure equipment with an appropriate degreaser to clean engines, transmissions, body components, etc.
- Fill empty tanks with propane for utility vehicles, maintain the propane usage report.
- Assist with sweeping, mopping, and organizing the repair bays during inclement weather.
- Assist with transportation functions such as relocating office furnishings and supplies to and from offices during remodels.
- Assist with equipment repair functions during inclement weather such as changing oil, adjusting belts, replacing mower blades, etc.
- Maintain records and time reports.
- Perform all job duties in a safe manner according to Forest Lawn Standards.
- Keep shop and work areas in clean and orderly condition. Lock out and block out all unsafe or incomplete work areas.
