Role Overview

The Manager, Financial Counseling oversees the dynamic operations of the Patient Benefit Advising call center, serving as a vital link that integrates all patient access entry points within the UHealth System. This position supports UHealth’s vision, mission, goals, and objectives by providing financial counseling services that are patient-centric and contribute to increased upfront collections and cash flow.

What You Will Do

Manages and directs the resources and operational activities of the On-site Patient Access Financial Counseling team, establishes departmental goals and objectives, develops policies and procedures, communicates new policies, and reviews and monitors the work of subordinates.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of insurance eligibility and benefits, contracting, and financial counseling
  • Ability to develop policies, procedures, processes, and programs aimed at increasing upfront collections
  • Ability to analyze data and interpret statistics to create a variety of narrative, statistical, and collection reports
