Role Overview

Full-time Manager of Salon Services position available at JKV in Lee's Summit, MO. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations of multiple salons, supervise staff, and ensure customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include supervising salon staff, training and orienting new staff, scheduling, payroll preparation, and coaching stylists to increase productivity. The Manager will also stay current on salon trends, evaluate customer desire and revenue production, and ensure ongoing training for stylists.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of salon supervision experience, a current Cosmetologist license, and strong interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills. The Manager will work closely with the Director of Resident Life to develop a marketing plan and support Life Enrichment initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school education or general education degree (GED) required
  • Current Cosmetologist license is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of salon supervision experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of stylist experience
  • Intermediate level keyboarding skills required
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office pc applications, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
  • Intermediate level knowledge of computerized billing software (such as Infogenesis) preferred
  • Previous experience working with elderly and doing sets on hair preferred
  • Basic experience using a cash register (computerized) and cash handling knowledge (i.e., balancing, closing)
  • Advanced level skill in using hair care equipment and chemicals
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and customer service skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
