Role Overview

The Manager, Rail Instruction supervises and plans the implementation and administration of training programs for Rail and/or Bus Service employees. This role oversees the Authority's Rail Training Programs, coordinating with Learning & Support and working with Operations to review promotional programs. The manager sets goals, monitors activities, and ensures compliance with State and Federal standards.

What You Will Do

Oversee the Authority's Rail Training Programs, facilitate and support training initiatives, and ensure training programs are conducted effectively through audits. Confer with department staff to determine training needs, set objectives, and assess training effectiveness. Schedule and maintain daily utilization of instructional staff, and hire, train, develop, and evaluate staff performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Administration or related field, plus five (5) years of training experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience in needs analysis, instructional design, curriculum content development, or technology education, as well as implementation and evaluation of training programs strongly preferred
  • Experience with various methods of training delivery (classroom, e-learning, etc.) preferred
  • Required to possess a valid State of Illinois Driver's license
  • Working knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
  • Working knowledge of learning strategies and instructional methods
  • General knowledge of the Authority's rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and all collective bargaining agreements governing assigned employees
