Job Description
The Manager, Service Development & Workforce Planning role is responsible for optimizing the transit system, analyzing route performance data, and making punitive route and schedule adjustments as necessary. The role also involves workforce scheduling, rostering, and absenteeism management, as well as collaborating with the BRTA Marketing team to prepare service change outreach information and onboard materials.

Requirements

  • Must be over 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a union environment.
  • Knowledge of the Berkshire, Lynx, Pittsfield Mass area is a plus.
  • Knowledge of transit scheduling software platforms (i.e Trapeze FX, Blockbuster, Optibus, Hastus)
  • Computer literate.
  • Well versed on Microsoft Office 365 applications (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Minimum three (3) years of transit industry experience.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong organizational planning skills.
  • Strong practical skills.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic math skills.
