Job Description
The Managing Director, Technology is an essential role on the Technology team, responsible for the vision and strategy for all KIPP NYC technology systems, services, and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in technology leadership, with responsibility for enterprise-wide systems, infrastructure, operations in a complex, multi-site technology environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of team management
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, PMP, cloud certifications, Google Educator, or ISTE (preferred)
  • Strong background in enterprise infrastructure, cloud environments, networks, cybersecurity, and end-user computing
  • Experience designing and executing technology strategy aligned to organizational goals and long-term sustainability to build scalable systems and lead organizational change
  • Experience overseeing technology budgets, vendor relationships, procurement, and contract management
  • Strategic and forward-thinking project management skills with a meticulous attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse, non-technical audiences
  • Ability to exercise discretion and judgment with the handling of highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Demonstrated passion for and a commitment to the KIPP NYC mission for high-quality public education and social justice for all
