Job Description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD) Systems Engineer to join our team working in the Washington D.C. Navy Yard.

Requirements

Provide technical support and assess risk for technical decisions for Nimitz and Ford Class Ship Design Managers (SDMs) and Aviation System Engineering Manager (SEM)
Collaborate with SUPSHIP Newport News to address AIMD system issues.
Provide written responses to requests for technical assistance or adjudication received via letter, Departure from Specification (DFS), and Nuclear Liaison Action Request (NLAR)
Address technical issues with ship modernization efforts executed via Ship Change Documents (SCDs) and support development of new SCDs
Collect and issue Aviation Systems Government Furnished Information (GFI) packages to Newport News Shipbuilding.
Review technical data packages, engineering drawings, reports, logistics materials, and training deliverables; provide written technical recommendations.
Evaluate procurement, ship, and systems specifications and submit written proposals for change.
