Job Description
Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Shift Leader - Castings to supervise casting production personnel in day-to-day operations at our Blue Castings site in Arlington, WA. The successful candidate will have 4 years of management experience, 4 years of experience in casting, and experience building a high-performing team. They will be responsible for maintaining shop schedule status, providing first-level escalation support, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring a lean, clean, and safe work environment. The role will directly impact the future of space flight and require the candidate's unwavering commitment and unfaltering focus towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Requirements

  • Supervise casting production personnel in day-to-day operations
  • Establish workstation assignments, employee training, overtime assignments, and back-up for absent employees
  • Maintain shop schedule status to ensure on-time delivery
  • Provide first-level escalation support to employees regarding HR issues
  • Drive Continuous Improvement opportunities to improve process, reduce cycle and set-up times
  • Maintain shop measuring equipment calibration program
  • Implement and maintain 5S, ensuring a lean, clean and safe work environment
  • Ensure all team members follow work instructions, quality requirements and processes
  • Provide continued training and skills development for team members
  • Provide coaching and early career mentoring and conduct performance reviews
