Role OverviewThe Marine Sandblaster/Painter will be responsible for sandblasting and painting the interior and exterior surfaces of vessels, including tanks and voids. The candidate should have experience with abrasive blast equipment and be certified to SSPC C-7. The role requires working in confined spaces and adhering to OSHA and shipyard safety practices.
What You Will Do
The main responsibilities of the Marine Sandblaster/Painter include connecting air and electrical systems, understanding blast standards, and producing cleaned surfaces to regulatory standards. The candidate should also be able to work effectively as a team, follow instructions, and maintain a high level of attendance.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate should have 1+ years of experience in sandblasting and painting, specifically inside of tanks. They should also be able to set up, operate, and maintain airless spray paint equipment and sandblasting equipment in accordance with OSHA and shipyard safety standards.
Requirements
- Currently certified to SSPC C-7
- 1+ years' experience sandblasting, specifically inside of tanks
- 1+ years' experience painting, specifically inside of tanks
- Own equipment
- OSHA-10 (Maritime) training/certification a plus
- Ability to pass a same day use oral drug test
- Ability to work in the United States
- Ability to maintain a high level of attendance and quality work
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as a team
- Ability to follow instructions and guidelines set forth by the company
