Marine Technician Candidate I

The Marine Technician Candidate I will perform mechanical repairs, troubleshoot and repair marine engines, and assist in training others. The role requires 6+ years of experience in mechanical repair and installation, and the ability to work in a team environment. The candidate will work 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, during the busy season.

What You Will Do

Troubleshoot and repair marine gas and diesel engines, repair/rebuild gearsets, transmissions, and stern drives, diagnose and repair carbureted and fuel injected intake systems, and perform mechanical repairs including water systems, waste systems, steering systems, engine controls, and pumps.

Requirements

• Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
• High school diploma required
• 6+ years of experience in the performance of mechanical repair and installation
• OEM certification(s)
• Ability to speak and read English and understand electrical wiring diagrams
• Ability to use test instruments
• Ability to use specialty tools as designated by OEM’s
• Must provide tools and test equipment
• Strong electrical troubleshooting capabilities
• Experience in electrical and electronic installations
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job
• Strong work ethic and personal commitment
• Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals
• Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
• Experience with a variety of internal combustion engines (diesel, inboard, outboard, etc.)
