Job Description
Southwest Power Pool (SPP) is seeking a Market Analyst II or I to join their Market Services and Design team. The successful candidate will analyze and develop organized electricity market designs, lead and support Markets+ working groups, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
Analyze and develop organized electricity market designs and evaluate the impacts of market design changes.
Lead and support Markets+ working groups and facilitate market design changes through the stakeholder process.
Perform market analysis, develop market metrics, and create reports to identify and resolve market issues.
Test and validate market functionality to ensure alignment with intended design and outcomes.
Collaborate with internal teams (Markets, Operations, Legal, Regulatory, Settlements,) to ensure consistent implementation of market design.
Coordinate with market participants, vendors, FERC, and RTOs/ISOs on market policy and design.
Support regulatory filings by providing data, analysis, and drafting technical materials.
Research and benchmark market designs from other RTOs/ISOs and Western Market Initiatives.
Document analyses and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
Develop training materials and mentor junior staff members.
