Job Description

Marketing Underwriter role at SFM Mutual Insurance Company, supporting the company's mission to grow its book of business in Kansas. The role involves underwriting and managing relationships with agents and brokers, developing and maintaining agency/broker relationships, and meeting new business goals and retention of renewals.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Risk management, Business or related field
Two or more years' underwriting experience with workers' compensation and/or casualty insurance
Valid driver's license
Professional insurance designations (CPCU, ARM) are a plus
Strong marketing and business acumen skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to assimilate, understand and analyze information from a variety of sources
Strong math skills and ability to evaluate policy premiums, loss ratios and retentions
Excellent Problem-solving and decision-making skills with an eye for detail
Effective negotiation and conflict resolutions abilities
Ability to effectively build and strengthen professional relationships
Strong prioritization, organization, and time management skills
Highly self-motivated and able to work with little direction
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Proficient in MS Office software applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
Ability to function in a highly collaborative, team environment
