Job Description
Radiant is a clean energy startup building a nuclear microreactor to be the world's first mass-produced, zero-emissions power source. The company seeks a Materials Engineer to own development, testing, and qualification of in-core materials and related manufacturing processes, particularly with hydrides for the Kaleidos 1MW reactor. This role involves end-to-end material selection, testing, and process development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Nuclear, or Chemical Engineering
  • Hands-on experimental or testing experience
  • 2+ years of experience developing/testing and/or analyzing materials for demanding loads
  • Experience with material development for solid-state processes (hydriding, welding, brazing)
  • Experience with solid-state and metal/nonmetal coatings
  • Knowledge of materials standards and design enablement tools
  • Self-motivation and strong organizational/communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
