Role OverviewThe MATIC Crime Investigator enhances statewide decision-making and proactive law enforcement by collecting, analyzing, storing, and disseminating criminal intelligence information. This position is responsible for developing an integrated information-sharing system and providing support for external investigations as needed.
What You Will Do
The investigator develops and delivers training to DOC staff on identifying potential intelligence information and following established reporting procedures. They work with personnel at all levels, from the Director to newly hired officers, and have coordinated access to all DOC facilities and programs.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in intelligence analysis, research, and data analysis, with experience in a criminal justice, military, or governmental intelligence agency. They will also be able to obtain a Secret and/or Top-Secret Clearance issued by the federal government within 12 months of hire.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any field that includes research and analysis of data
- At least 2 years of job-related experience
- POST Basic Certification after attending training at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy
