Job Description
Meat Inspector Trainee position in Agriculture. Competitive salary: $47,757 - $58,074 annually. Job involves training and mentoring in meat inspection procedures, ante mortem and postmortem inspections, and enforcement of state and federal sanitation, humane slaughter, meat processing, and food safety policies. Work involves inspecting equipment, facilities, and personnel, and conducting visual examination of live animals and/or poultry prior to slaughter. Position requires a high school degree, completion of a course in animal science, agribusiness, or food business management, and 3 months of experience in livestock industry/industrial meat and poultry processing, or equivalent.
