Job Description
The Meat Wrapper learns the skills of handling fresh meat and other meat products, safe, sanitary and efficient operation of the meat department, ordering and inventory, equipment operations, and merchandising according to standards set by the company.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in grocery perishable department or meat wrapping preferred
  • Experience safely using manual pallet jacks, hand tools and power equipment, including but not limited to, knives, wrappers, scales, slicers, cubing machine, and power saw (where certified to cut meat) preferred
  • Proficiency in basic math skills required, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Must be able to read, write and speak in English
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication
  • Must be dependable and flexible, including a willingness to work in other areas of the store as needed with little or no advance notice
  • Some travel may be required
  • Excellent customer service, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Must adhere to a uniform dress code
