Mechanical Engineer, Automation

This position applies mechanical engineering principles to interpret specifications and develop automation equipment and layouts. The Mechanical Engineer creates 3D models and 2D drawings, generates bills of material (BOMs), supports project execution and onsite installation, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, reliable, and maintainable solutions.

What You Will Do

Design mechanical components, subsystems, and work cells using 2D/3D CAD tools. Develop concepts from requirements, create layouts, and produce detailed part/assembly drawings and BOMs. Coordinate prototype build and testing, support project execution, and provide installation and commissioning support.

Requirements

• 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience
• 2D/3D CAD experience (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo/Pro/ENGINEER)
• Working knowledge of pneumatic systems, basic mechatronics concepts, and automation equipment integration
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean principles
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project documentation tools
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks (or comparable CAD platforms)
• Strong blueprint/engineering drawing reading skills with the ability to interpret specifications and technical documentation
• Demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organization and attention to detail
• Self-starter capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization while remaining customer oriented
