Role Overview

The Mechanical Engineer I is responsible for researching, planning, and designing stations and machines using calculations, mechanical principals, and proven practices to create semi/fully automated assembly and test systems. The role involves working within design hour constraints, schedule constraints, and overall machine budget constraints. The engineer will work in a collaborative environment to ensure designs are cost-effective and meet customer requirements.

What You Will Do

The Mechanical Engineer I will research and analyze data to develop or determine feasibility of design or application. They will work with vendors to obtain competitive quotes for major purchased components, create detailed fabrication drawings, and release completed designs to Project Management. The engineer will also support fabrication, assembly, debug, and machine qualification activities to ensure design conforms to customer requirements and specifications.

Requirements

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience
  • General knowledge of manufacturing process preferred
  • Working knowledge of Solidworks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and internet research
