Role Overview

As a Mechanical Engineer II, you will develop and analyze new or existing designs to meet product specifications while considering feasibility of operation, manufacturing and application. You will work under the direction of Engineering Management to ensure products continually meet or exceed customer & market needs, agency & compliance requirements, manufacturing continuous improvement, and cost savings initiatives.

What You Will Do

Plan, conceptualize, and create innovative designs for new products or updates to existing products with a focus on quality, cost, manufacturability, product performance and agency compliance. Perform testing and validation of new designs or updates to existing products. Coordinate pilot builds for testing and customer field trials throughout the validation process.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, 2 years of experience working in engineering, and experience designing mechanical systems and products. You will be able to apply basic engineering principles and statistics to solve problems, and have experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • 2 years of experience working in engineering
  • Understanding of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
  • Ability to apply basic engineering principles and statistics to solve problems
  • Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Understanding of Agency and Certification Standards, such as UL, Energy Star, ASTM, etc.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, including sheet metal fabrication and injection molding
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in both verbal and written formats
  • Must be self-motivated and a great team worker
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (word, excel, access, outlook)
