Role OverviewHDR is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Michigan-based Power Generation team. The candidate will be encouraged and trained to develop from a mechanical or lead engineer to a project engineer and ultimately into a project manager or engineering manager.
What You Will Do
The candidate will be responsible for mechanical equipment/pipe sizing, equipment/piping layout considerations, construction document development, engineer/equipment vendor submittal reviews, vendor/contractor communications, technical writing, code reviews, site visits, project planning, and working within an assigned budget and schedule.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Previous experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
- Experience in commercial or institutional facilities
- Computer experience using MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, manufacturer selection software
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
