Role Overview

HDR's Building Engineering Services Group designs critical infrastructure for data centers, commercial environments, and next-generation facilities. This Mechanical Engineer role coordinates mechanical design teams through schematic design, development, and contract document phases of projects.

What You Will Do

Coordinate the work of the mechanical design team through schematic design, development, and contract document phases. Establish meetings with governing agencies for code compliance, review mechanical documents for conflicts with other disciplines, write mechanical specifications, select equipment and systems, and provide construction contract administration as needed.

Why It Might Be a Fit

This role requires a Professional Engineer (PE) license and experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings. Candidates with a Master's degree in architectural engineering with Mechanical emphasis and experience in healthcare, science/technology, or civic facilities are preferred. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience in commercial or institutional facilities
  • Computer experience using MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, manufacturer selection software
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
