Job Description
The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to provide vital support for the mechanical engineering portions of the operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment. The intern will perform electrical engineering work, research, and inspections, and participate in the review and preparation of regulatory reports.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or mechatronics from an accredited college or university
  • Two years of full-time satisfactory experience in mechanical engineering work
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
  • General knowledge of electrical troubleshooting techniques
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) software
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
