Role Overview

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will work in the Airborne & Ground Optics Department in McKinney, Texas, and be responsible for all aspects of the mechanical design process from concept to model/drawing completion. The intern will work closely with Chief Engineers, Lead Engineers, and product engineers.

What You Will Do

The responsibilities will include training and application of RTX tools, design and documentation support, engineering change and drawing release, analytical and technical engineering work, and training on Raytheon processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
  • Experience utilizing CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools such as CREO or equivalent
  • Experience in Mechanisms or Opto-Mechanical Design
  • Experience in Lab/Cleanroom
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including a basic knowledge, and understanding of Tolerancing.
