Job Description
Designer shall work in a team environment to develop accurate, constructible, coordinated, and timely Mechanical Piping system models meeting McKenney’s drafting standards. A Mechanical Piping designer will also be responsible for providing accurate shop drawings that support the construction team.

Requirements

  • Utilize McKenney’s CAD standards to create mechanical piping models
  • Accurately model Mechanical Piping systems in compliance with project plans, project specifications, and code requirements
  • Coordinate all Mechanical Piping systems with: ductwork, mechanical equipment, other trades, and architectural and structural elements of the building
  • Review and distribute fabrication information including assembly sheets and spool drawings to project managers and field leaders
  • Effectively and proactively communicate with project managers, project engineers, and field foremen during the drafting and construction process
  • Use Company tools to manage requests for information and shop drawing progress
  • Proactively identify and communicate areas of deficiency/gaps along with proposed solutions on projects to support timely completion of work
  • Work with project manager and field foreman to create As-Built condition drawings for projects
  • Produce all documents on time and within budget (estimated drafting hours) in a timely manner based on job requirements
