Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to support the development of low-voltage power distribution equipment, including switchgear assemblies designed to UL 891 standards. This role focuses on producing detailed, manufacturable mechanical designs while coordinating closely with electrical engineering and production teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent hands-on engineering experience
  • 3–8+ years of experience designing low-voltage switchgear systems
  • Direct experience with UL 891 switchgear design is required
  • Strong understanding of switchgear enclosure and structural design, breaker integration and compartmentalization methods, bus spacing, separation, and clearance requirements, cable entry, routing, and service accessibility, thermal management, ventilation, and arc containment concepts
  • Proficiency with CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor
