Job Description
Role Overview

As a Mechatronics Integrator at ENGEL Machinery North America, you will be responsible for the start-up of automation cells containing various combinations of linear, SCARA, and articulated industrial robots, bowl feeders, drawer systems, conveyors, machine guarding & safety systems, as well as other custom automation equipment delivered to our customers. You will work in a production environment and utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Lifting of equipment is required up to 50 lbs. This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail, knowledge of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), control system processors, industrial instrumentation, control system analog & digital I/O, control system networks (EtherCAT, Ethernet, Profinet), and knowledge in graphical & ladder logic programming code.

What You Will Do

Your main day-to-day responsibilities will include assembling, installing, troubleshooting, and commissioning industrial automation hardware and software, assembling and installing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components, power source and communication verification, software installation and debug, safety equipment validation according to safety standards, setup of parameters, sequence, and positions of automation and robotic system, and ensuring system performs according to sales order.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET), Electromechanical Engineering Technology (EMET) or equivalent training & experience as a control systems integrator
  • Minimum of two years of related experience in robotics or automation
  • Preferred Robot experience: KUKA, Fanuc
  • Preferred Control experience: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Beckhoff
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), control system processors, industrial instrumentation, control system analog & digital I/O, control system networks (EtherCAT, Ethernet, Profinet)
  • Knowledge in graphical & ladder logic programming code
  • Knowledge in reading mechanical drawings, pneumatic and electrical schematics
  • Ability to perform work on multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to articulate technical information exchanges in both verbal and written form
  • Ability to operate an overhead crane and forklift
  • Good communication skills
