Job Description
Provide leadership to ensure students are effective users of ideas and information. Supervise and manage the school library/media center and programs. Engage learners through print and digital resources. Serve as a teacher, materials expert, and curriculum adviser.

Requirements

  • Use TEK's/SE's as the basis for instruction
  • Provide group instruction and individual guidance to students
  • Participate in curriculum development process
  • Model and promote collaborative planning, cooperative teaching, and direct instruction
  • Supervise Media Assistant(s), student aides
  • Provide instructional access to library resources and facilities
  • Implement effective strategies and techniques for library management operations
  • Encourage a high level of circulation and support academic rigor
  • Work cooperatively with the community and libraries
  • Carry out discipline in accordance with Board policies and administrative regulations
  • Exhibit effective communication and comply with Federal and state laws
  • Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of the library/media center program
  • Engage in continual self-evaluation and self-directed learning
  • Perform all administrative tasks of keeping a library orderly and functioning properly
  • Travel throughout the district
