Role Overview

The Medical Assistant assists the provider in the examination and treatment of patients, following established standards and practices, as directed by the clinic provider. Employees will ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Employees may be tasked to assist in other areas of the clinic as needed, such as Front Office responsibilities.

What You Will Do

Assists the provider in the examination and treatment of patients, greets patients, obtains patient history, explains treatment procedures, prepares patient and exam room for examination, positions instruments and equipment, cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment, administers injections and medications, performs diagnostic tests, and completes medical chart.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have 2 years of Medical Assistant experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a certification in BLS. They should be detail-oriented, have excellent interpersonal communication skills, and be able to work all shifts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • MA course completion certification preferred
  • Must obtain and maintain a current certification in BLS
  • 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • PC skills or applicable computer experience
  • Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology
  • Ability to work all shifts
  • Ability to escort or transport patient by wheelchair or stretcher
