Role OverviewThe Medical Assistant assists the provider in the examination and treatment of patients, following established standards and practices, as directed by the clinic provider.
What You Will Do
Greets patients, obtains patient history, explains treatment procedures, prepares patient and exam room for examination, administers injections and medications, performs diagnostic tests, and completes medical chart.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Requires high school diploma or equivalent, 2 years of Medical Assistant experience, and ability to accurately read and write medical terminology. Must obtain and maintain a current certification in BLS.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistant preferred
- MA course completion certification preferred
- Must obtain and maintain a current certification in BLS
- 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred
- PC skills or applicable computer experience
- Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology
- Ability to work all shifts
- Ability to escort or transport patient by wheelchair or stretcher
