Role Overview

The Medical Assistant assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Coordinates patient flow, schedules appointments, procedures, tests and referrals. Works under close supervision of the physician and clinic manager.

What You Will Do

Interviews patients, obtains vital signs, records information on patients' charts, draws and collects blood samples, prepares specimens or swabs for laboratory analysis, triages phone calls, and communicates with patients and their families.

Requirements

  • High school degree
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods
