Role OverviewThe Medical Assistant 2 will perform general patient care responsibilities, including checking schedules, recording patient data, and assisting patients with walking and collecting specimens. They will also fulfill clerical responsibilities, such as sending and receiving patient medical records, and organizing medical records. Additionally, they will perform environmental responsibilities, including setting up instruments and equipment, and properly disposing of expired medications and supplies.
What You Will Do
The Medical Assistant 2 will perform daily checks of equipment, ensure the environment is safe, and assist with data collection for quality improvement activities. They will also communicate problems relating to patients and/or staff with the practice manager in a timely manner.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The Medical Assistant 2 will actively participate in clinic huddles, offer suggestions to improve patient care, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. They will also be responsible for communicating problems and reporting patient safety issues to the physician and practice manager.
Requirements
- High School or GED
- 1 year of clinical practice experience
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification upon start
- Certified Medical Assistant certification upon start
